Los Altos City Council Agenda Packet Feb. 28 — Hillview Use for LASD – Bullis Charter?

Written by lalahpolitico

A key item is the merging of the Traffic and Planning Commissions. BPAC goes independent. A new woman city manger will be hired.

This meeting presents a great opportunity for LASD and Bullis Charter to request that the city of Los Altos cooperate in evaluating if the Hillview School site could/should somehow be returned to LASD. With over 10% of k-8 students housed in portables, LASD needs an additional school site.

The Hillview for LASD usage could be added as a Future Agenda Item to the City/Schools Issues Standing Committee. (Item 14)

Consent items in the Los Altos City Council agenda include … a Lehigh Cement mayoral letter calling for application of the highest environmental standards, Homestead Trader Joes Traffic Light approval, trial of a 15-20 mph speed limit near schools which could push traffic to side streets, buying a police dispatch system in cooperation with Palo Alto and Mountain View. These will be passed without any discussion unless someone on council or from the council pulls them out of “consent calendar,” for further discussion at the end of the meeting.

Discussion items include approving the new city manager, approving merger of Planning and Traffic Commissions ( BPAC to report directly to council – a promotion ), and review of the the city’s budget to make mid-year adjustment.

All agenda documents have been aggregated and appear in the Scribd window below – convenient for you if you are on a PC, MAC or tablet with wi-fi.
