Most but not all Planning Commissioners were Reappointed to the new PTC

It looks like Los Altos Planning Commission members Kenneth Lorell and Jeannie Bruins were passed over for the new Planning and Traffic Commission. Why so we can only speculate.  LALAHPOLITCO observes that Ms. Bruins is 1) an intending city council candidate, running against Jon Baer and others,  2) participated in Community Conversations about Gateways — a charrette process that found the 400 Main, Morris Project wanting and not fulfilling the contract with the City, which owns the land.

Also we observed that last week Ken Lorrell — at the last  Architecture & Site Committee meeting shown in the picture — joined Ms Bruins in giving the Morris 400 Main project a bit of a hard time.  Bruins and Lorrell agreed not to approve the plan, but rather to call for a study session. Ms. Junaid had initially been favorably impressed with the project plan, but had to concur with the study session preferred by the majority. Here is our report on the project look and feel, and the meeting proceedings.

There were 12 applicants for the 7 seats on the newly restructured Planning and Traffic Commission.

These are the candidates for the PTC:
Jonathan Baer (current planning)
Ronit Bodner (current planning)
Phoebe Bressak (applied for Design Review as well )
Jeannie Bruins (current planning)
Jim Chang
Bob Jones
Malika Junaid (current planning)
Kenneth Lorell (current planning)
Robert Mabe
Michael McTighe
Sally Meadows
Jerry Moison (current planning)
