Measuring Roof heights, not ceiling heights

We note hopefully that THREE of the six members who were present at the meeting on June 21 – and voting nay – are on the new Planning and Transportation Commission (PTC) – namely, JERRY MOISON, Ronit Bodner and [very unexpectedly ] Jon Baer.
UPDATE June 23:
It was predominantly the Old Planning Commission that spoke on the night of June 21 to reject the backward -looking Packard-Carpenter proposal to rollback downtown planning. We note hopefully that two of the six members who were present at the meeting on June 21 – and voting nay – are on the NEW Planning and Transportation Commission (PTC) – namely, Ronit Bodner and [very unexpectedly ] Jon Baer. Lalahpolitico is hopeful that Jon Baer may actually emerge as free thinker, out from under Ron Packard’s long mentoring.
Preliminary Report:
The “old” Los Altos planning commission, with some members absent, voted 6 to 0 t0 zero to reject the downtown zoning language changes proposed by Los Altos Council as implemented by City Staff. Moison and Abrams thought decisions should be delay until there was a new council in November. Jeannie Abrams was very aggressive in rejecting the language. Obviously, everyone — even Jon Baer! – was on board to reject.

LALAHPOLITICO: It was heartening to see the Commission spine displayed tonite in saying NO to the City Council’s Packard- Carpenter initiative intended to reverse the 7 years’ work of the Downtown Committee to create positive zoning changes to stimulate development density.
Looking forward, in terms of process, the Los Altos City Council can just say NO to the NO of the Planning Commission. The council can just say the Planning Commission is wrong and just plough ahead with the roll-back. Time will tell if they have the nerve.
