Early and incomplete results viewed at around 8am Nov. 4, 2015 show Measure A Los Altos apparently heading to defeat. With almost 8000 ballots counted, over 71% are NO votes. The registrar will be accepting ballots postmarked no later than Nov. 3 for the next three days. That means the count can be final either late this Friday after the last mail bag arrives… or perhaps not until sometime during the next business day Monday.

South Los Altos Douses Measure A
Consulting the precinct map of 8 precincts for this election reveals that NO votes were around 2 to 1 in the northern precincts rising to nearly 4 to 1 in the southern precincts.
Residents in South Los Altos are sending a strong message that Measure A is geographically unfair

Here is Lalah’s verbal description of what she interprets to be the boundaries of the 8 precincts, but honestly she can’t really tell from the limited information on the map. She can tell north from south on the map though.
2301 North – El camino area, south along the creek to approximately just west Los Altos Ave.or that might be San Antonio Rd.
2305 North – El Camino area , just east of Los Alto Ave or San Antonio Road, south to approximately Pine, east to ElMonte(?)
2309 North – neighborhoods close to downtown, but west of Elegant Monte(?) and north/east of Foothill
2346 North – mostly the University/Orange neighborhood west of Foothill, across from Elmonte
2314 Northish – east of El Monte(?) but west of the border with Mountain View along Miramonte
2333 South – this precent is south of the adjacent 2314
2336 South – this precint is south of the adjacent 2333
2351 South – this is the Montclaire neighborhood west of Foothill
An Aside Lalahpolitico: 8 precincts with 3 poll workers each. Hmmmm, Lalah thinks California should go the way of Oregon and do 100% mail-in ballots.
