According to the proceedings of the December 13, 2011 City Council meeting, the city may hold off on proposed changes to the Los Altos Library parking lot.  It had planned to make the spaces closest to the main entrance available to staff only .  The city has already improved access and safety by installing a stop sign by the History Museum and is expected to install some speed limit signs in those parking lots.

Jane Cronkite, the head librarian, does not support turning the parking spaces closest to the main entrance into staff-only parking.  Rather she prefers actions that would make patron parking even more convenient.  She does like the idea of turning the access road into a one-way road.

The council voted to continue discussion of various proposed changes to January 10, 2012 council meeting.
